How we supported one client with his recovery from a stroke
John, a 68-year-old man, suffered a stroke that left him with limited mobility on his right side, difficulty speaking, and challenges with swallowing. After his hospital discharge, his family sought help from Draycott to support his recovery at home.
We at, Draycott Nursing and Care, provided a personalised care plan, coordinating with physiotherapists, dietitians, and speech therapists. Our carers helped John with daily exercises to improve his mobility and strength, assisted with speech therapy sessions, and ensured he followed his medication schedule. We also supported him with a specialized meal plan for safe swallowing and offered emotional encouragement throughout his recovery.
Over the course of several months, John made significant progress. His mobility improved, and he regained much of his speech and swallowing abilities. His family felt supported, and John was able to recover in the comfort of his own home with confidence and dignity.
