Draycott Nursing, The Professionals in Nursing and Care

NatWest everywoman Awards finalist.

The NatWest Everywoman Awards celebrate inspirational business women who have achieved significant success - particularly those who've had to overcome adversities such as financial constraints, social disadvantages or skills gaps. The Awards play an invaluable role in both recognising success and inspiring other women to venture into the field of business.

There are several categories of award. One is the Hera Award. Hera was the Queen of Goddesses, famed for her wisdom and ability to inspire others. The award is given to the most inspirational woman running a business who is aged 50 or over.

Angela Hamlin, founder of Draycott Nursing, was runner-up for the 2006 award. The organisers had this to say about her.

“Angela Hamlin had been nursing all her life, but witnessing her mother's suffering from Alzheimer's disease prompted an overwhelming desire to set up a home care nursing agency with a difference, one that would provide first rate medical attention combined with thoughtful and sensitive personal care. With no capital and only an abundance of vision, drive and focus, Angela set up Draycott Nursing from an Internet cafe. Over the last ten years the agency has established the highest reputation and most business has been generated by word-of-mouth. Angela's staff, many of whom have been with the company since its creation, were responsible for her award nomination. All commend Angela's humour, compassion, integrity, warmth and generosity of spirit. Angela is also unstoppable. Determined to go on and on, she has huge plans for the future.”
