10th Anniversary Celebrations
Draycott Nursing celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 15 May 2007 in aid of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and successfully raised over £50,000 to help unpaid carers throughout the UK.
The glittering event was hosted by actress Lynda Bellingham, and attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, actress Sylvia Syms and presenter Penny Smith. It was held in a magnificent marquee in the grounds of St. Luke’s Church in Chelsea.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous sit-down dinner and were entertained by acts throughout. Performances included songs by tenor Andrew Amdur, singer-songwriter Jason Nolan and West End performer Emma Munro-Wilson, a recital by Lynda Bellingham, Sylvia Syms and Michael Peluso, and jazz and barbershop numbers by vocal ensemble Cappella Artois. Nick Bonham, one of the UK’s leading auctioneers, conducted an auction where guests bid for luxury holidays, couture clothing and spa trips, all of which helped to raise much-needed funds.
Angela Hamlin, Founder and Managing Director of Draycott Nursing says: ‘We were delighted to celebrate our 10th Anniversary and use this special occasion to highlight the excellent work of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. Not only do our two organisations share a similar vision and ethos, but Draycott Nursing wouldn’t exist were it not for my own personal experience as a carer. This evening is just the start of many as we look forward to forging a longer-term partnership with The Trust’.
Shān Nicolas, Chief Executive of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers says: ‘We are delighted that the evening was a great success and that Draycott Nursing dedicated this event to support The Trust. Events like this help to raise funds and our profile. Without them we would not be able to support so many carers and make a difference to their lives.'
